Objectives
- Describe the classification of decompensated heart failure based on hemodynamic patterns and clinical classification
- Describe the goals and general principles of management of decompensated heart failure
- Identify the most commonly used diuretics, vasodilators, and inotropes in the management of decompensated heart failure
- Identify treatments that either are not beneficial or that worsen decompensated heart failure
- Describe the use of non-pharmacologic device therapy in patients with medically refractory decompensated heart failure
