Description
A multidisciplinary review of basic concepts and cutting edge advances in orthopedics designed for all providers that care for patients with musculoskeletal issues.
Objectives:
-
- Discuss operative and nonoperative treatment modalities in shoulder arthritis.
- Recognize the importance of the rehabilitation process in the recovery of the orthopaedic surgical patient.
- Identify different modalities of perioperative pain management.
- Explain the importance of early identification and management of sports related ankle injuries.
- Explore indications for ACL reconstruction surgery.
- Describe common injuries in the master-age runner.
- Compare and contrast return to sport versus performance rehab for lower extremity injuries.
- Differentiate operative and nonoperative treatment modalities for cervical disc disease.
- Outline the evaluation, management, and surgical treatment of back pain.
- Define overload weight training and other rehab principles for the geriatric population.
- Review guidelines for optimizing and improving outcomes for patients undergoing total hip and total knee arthroplasty.
