Description

The 21st Annual Sleep Medicine Update is designed to update attendees regarding the evidence supporting best current clinical practices in sleep medicine.  The information presented is intended to enhance clinical competence in the diagnosis and treatment of various sleep disorders as well as improved care of patients. 

Objectives:

    • Explore endophenotypic guided treatment for obstructive sleep apnea.
    • Review pharmaceutical agents used in sleep disorders.
    • Learn about advanced positive airway pressure modes in complex sleep disordered breathing.
    • Recognize various medications associated with sleep disordered breathing.
    • Comprehensively review obesity management in sleep apnea patients.
    • Understand how to troubleshoot common problems with PAP therapy.
    • Discuss the impact of OSA on daytime functioning and cognition.
    • Learn about sleep problems in women.
    • Explore the outcomes of combination of upper airway surgery with neurostimulation therapy.
    • Elaborate strategies to improve outcomes of hypoglossal nerve stimulator therapy.
