Description
This program is designed to provide current information related to emergency medicine and trauma, as well as evidence-based practice recommendations to improve patient outcomes for health care professionals.

Objectives
- Identify current drug trends in the region.
- Identify dangers of current social media culture.
- Identify at least three common obstetrical emergencies and two indicators of trauma unique to the pregnant patient.
- Describe the initial assessment priorities and critical interventions for a pregnant patient experiencing a specified obstetrical emergency or traumatic injury.
- Describe strategies for effective communication and seamless handoff of care between pre-hospital and in-hospital providers when managing a pregnant patient with an emergency or trauma.
- Discuss signs and symptoms of traumatic brain injury in children.
- Discuss treatment strategies for traumatic brain injury in children.
- Discuss signs and symptoms of chest wall injuries.
- Discuss treatment strategies for chest wall injuries.
- Describe weather alerts in Nebraska.
- Describe how to utilize the critical incident management service in Nebraska.
- Discuss patient care strategies in traumatic injury EMS case studies.
