Verification of Eligibility

Upon check-in, all attendees must present proof of identification (driver's license, birth certificate or passport) and a signed course eligibility form (click here to download).

The eligibility form MUST be filled out and signed by your supervising dentist. You will not be admitted to the course without both items, and no refund will be given. You may also email your eligibility form to the Office of Continuing Education at CMedEd@creighton.edu prior to the day of the course. Please call (402) 280-1830 if you have any questions.

Description

This course is designed to meet the requirements of the State of Nebraska to allow dental assistants to perform coronal polishing under the direct supervision of a licensed practicing dentist. One year of clinical work experience as a dental assistant is required. 

Cost: $450 

Instructors: Lisa Kucera, RDH; Laura Grabow, RDH

Method of Teaching: Lecture and hands-on skills lab. Day 1 of the program will be delivered online with audience participation. Day 2 will feature hands-on sessions in the dental school.

Total CE Credits: 14.0 hours

Attendance Policy: Students must attend all the hours in the course. Absences are not permitted. It's recommended that students arrive to class 10 minutes prior to the start. Class begins at 8 a.m. - please see the schedule below. Students who arrive after the class has already started are considered late and are not allowed to attend the course that day. They will have to register for the next course. No refunds will be given.

Dress Code Requirements: The Friday lecture day has no clothing requirements. On Saturday while in the lab, closed-toed shoes are required as we are in the clinic.

Refund Policy 

Continuing education and professional development courses may be cancelled by the attendee in writing up to 7 days before the course begins for a full refund. No refund will be given 7 days prior to the course. Some courses are not eligible for a refund; these exceptions are noted in specific course descriptions. If a course is cancelled by the University for non-weather related issues, the student will be notified and a full refund will be processed. In the event of a weather related closure, the course will be rescheduled.
