Description
This hands-on workshop helps health professions educators and researchers strengthen skills in qualitative and mixed methods research. Learn to refine research questions, collect high-quality data, and apply rigorous analysis techniques, including thematic and focus group analysis. The session also introduces mixed methods approaches to advance impactful education research.

Objectives

- Develop focused qualitative and mixed methods research aims and questions
- Strengthen skills in qualitative data collection using interviews, focus groups, observations, and other approaches such as image analysis and photo elicitation.
- Apply rigorous qualitative analysis techniques, including thematic analysis, focus group analysis, and case‑based analytic approaches relevant to health professions education.
- Describe the application of mixed methods designs to enhance the rigor and impact of research in health professions education.
