Description
Missed or delayed diagnoses in oral pathology can place patients at risk and create significant clinical and professional consequences. This case‑based dental continuing education course helps general dental professionals improve diagnostic accuracy by recognizing oral lesions that are commonly overlooked or misdiagnosed in everyday practice.
Through real‑life clinical scenarios, learners will examine soft tissue and bony lesions of the oral cavity and jaws, with focused discussion on why these conditions are frequently missed and why early recognition is critical. Each case includes a concise review of clinical and radiographic features, common differential diagnoses and practical management considerations that can be applied immediately in a general dental setting.
The instructors and planners for this course have listed no conflicts of interest.
Planning Committee: Donal Scheidel, DDS; Douglas MacDougall, DMD; Jose Ibarrola, CD, MS, DDS; Christine Keith, BS, DDS; Colin Dworak, MBA
Method of Teaching: Lecture/Discussion
Total CE Credits: 2.0
