Course Overview

Creighton’s Integrative Care Certificate equips healthcare professionals and caregivers to apply integrative care concepts in clinical and community settings. Through two badges, each containing eight one-hour, CE-accredited online courses, you’ll explore how lifestyle, behavioral, and social factors influence health—and how to address them using whole-person, evidence-based approaches. 

The Integrative Care Certificate helps caregivers and healthcare professionals master holistic, patient-centered care, blending conventional medicine with lifestyle and social practices. Upon successful completion of the Foundations of Integrative Care and Applications of Integrative Care badges, you will earn the Integrative Care Certificate.

Amy Cosimano EdD, RN, DipACLM, NBC-HWC

Assistant Professor and Assistant Program Director, Integrative Health and Wellness, School of Medicine

Dr. Cosimano is an educator and practitioner in the Integrative Health Wellness MS program. She has taught at Creighton for over 20 years and spent many years teaching in the College of Nursing. Dr. Cosimano is committed to providing evidence-based content related to whole-person and personalized health.  She is passionate about lifestyle medicine and healthy aging.

Thomas L. Lenz, PharmD

Professor and Program Director, Integrative Health and Wellness, School of Medicine

Dr. Lenz is a respected educator and practitioner in integrative health, combining academic rigor with real-world expertise. He is committed to equipping healthcare professionals with actionable strategies to improve patient outcomes and foster a comprehensive approach to wellness.

Mary Watson, MS, RDN

Professor of Practice, Integrative Health and Wellness, School of Medicine

Mary primarily works in a variety of education settings with students pursuing a healthcare-related degree. She hopes to inspire creative, patient-centered approaches for nutrition coaching and education within medical nutrition therapy and integrative care frameworks.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of the certificate, participants will be able to:

Course Outcomes

You’ll gain practical, immediately applicable tools to improve patient outcomes, enhance your communication and coaching skills, and support wellness at both individual and community levels. You’ll also earn 16 CE/CME credits—one for each completed course.

This noncredit badge is part of the Integrative Care Certificate Program. Completing both badges will grant you the full certificate.

Creighton University Health Sciences Continuing Education designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 16.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AAPA accepts AMA category 1 credit for the PRA from organizations accredited by ACCME.

Creighton University Health Sciences Continuing Education has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 8.0 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Nurse CE

All courses are 100% online and self-paced. You can start anytime and progress on your own schedule—ideal for working professionals. 

Can I earn Continuing Education Credits?

Yes. This certificate qualifies for 16.0 continuing education credits across multiple disciplines. Check with your state’s credentialing body to determine if this course is eligible for continuing education credits for your profession. 

Do you offer tuition assistance?

We do not offer tuition assistance for non-credit lifelong learning courses or certificates. However, Creighton alumni, faculty, staff and eligible partner employees, along with their spouses and dependents, may qualify for a 15% discount. One discount per offering.
